The Essex River is a little-known tidal estuary on the North Shore of Boston. At the mouth of the river the white sand dunes of Crane's Beach separate and protect the river basin from the open sea. For years I have been traveling to this place by kayak and boat to appreciate the uniqueness of where the quiet of the river marshland meets the often turbulent open ocean.

When I formed Essex River Ventures at the end of 2002, it occurred to me that my new business venture was analogous to my winding trips along the Essex River to Cranes Beach. It was my goal to create a company that was able to skillfully realize opportunities in an often turbulent real estate investment market while offering a position of confidence and security to the investor. ERV was formed to take advantage of fluid and dynamic investment opportunities where inefficiencies exist between the real estate and capital markets.

I believe that, like the Essex River, the most rewarding investments exist outside the mainstream and are discovered by exploring the flowing off-market currents nearby. Piloted with skilled guidance and a clear vision, these assets can deliver superior rewards.
