Mr. Hodess joined Essex River Ventures to add strength in construction, management and operations systems. Prior to joining Essex River, Mr. Hodess owned and operated Hodess Building Company (HBC) for 20 years. HBC was a general contracting firm with an annual volume in excess of $170 million and offices in Massachusetts and North Carolina. At HBC, Mr. Hodess provided oversight for builidng projects ranging in size from $1 million to $100 milliion and spanning the institutional, commercial and residential sectors including over 4,000 units of multi-family residential housing.

 

Mr. Hodess is a former two-term Chairman of the Board of Directors of both the MA and RI chapters of the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) and has served on the National Board of Directors for the ABC. He is currently an Arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association and is on the Board of Directors for Big Brothers of Rhode Island. Mr. Hodess holds a BS from the University of Vermont, and is a granduate of the Owners & Presidents Management program at Harvard University.
